5a - Take an extra club to ensure clearing the famous dune in front of the green. As a general rule, due to an optical illusion, the white stone marking the pin location is ‘off’ by 5-10 yards to the left of the actual pin location.

This hole frequently plays more like 175 yards than the 143 on the card, and up to 150 from the ladies’ tee.

5b - Normally only in play in the winter months. Take an extra club to reach this green, which is quite fast from back to front. Missing the green right or long will mean at least a bogey; left or short will still allow a chance of par.
